*~!WWE and NWA News For Week Ending October 25, 2003!~*
  1. To follow-up the story I posted a few days ago, Rob Van Dam is far from a lock to re-sign with WWE once his contract expires this summer.

Sources claim that RVD isn't concerned at all about where he'll end up once his deal runs out. WWE strongly wants to keep RVD on their roster, but Rob isn't sure he wants to continue his career with the company due to the lack of push he has received.

If RVD and WWE can't come to terms on a new contract, it's expected that he'll opt for bookings in Japan or join NWA-TNA.
  2. Former UPW wrestler Ryan "Keiji" Sakoda is set to debut at tonight's No Mercy PPV. The plan is for him to be involved in a Japanese mafia gimmick with the newly signed Jimmy Yang.

  3. The current plan is for Stephanie McMahon to lose the "I Quit" match between she and Vince McMahon, thus being removed as the GM of Smackdown. She is expected to take a brief hiatus from appearing on television and will be taking time off in order to be married. From what I'm hearing, she will return soon after Survivor Series.
  4. I have some very sad news to report this evening. Road Warrior Hawk, one-half of one of the best tag teams in professional wrestling history, passed away this morning at approximately 1:30 A.M. He was just 46 years old.
  5. The current plan for Survivor Series is to have Vince McMahon wrestle The Undertaker in a Buried Alive match at Survivor Series.

  6. Mark Henry suffered a shoulder injury at the 10/18 house show in Providence, RI. He worked last night's show in Portland, but it was still bothering him.

  7. Rene Dupree injured his knee on the same show, but he worked last night and seemed to be fine.
  8. The guy who was seen during No Mercy last night talking about "Little Johnny" and his "tapes" is developmental wrestler John Heidenreich. He's expected to make his in-ring debut in the coming weeks.

  9. During the time Shaniqua was off to sell the lariat she received from Bradshaw, she went out and bought herself a new pair of breast implants. As you saw last night, they are using it as part of the ongoing storyline between the Bashams and the APA.

  10. Stephanie McMahon was being extra careful during her match with Vince McMahon at No Mercy last night. With she and Triple H set to be wed this Saturday, she didn't want to have any bruises on her body that would be visible during the wedding. She's expected to make her return to television in about six weeks.
  11. Chris Benoit talks about Stu Hart
I started going to Stampede Wrestling every Saturday night in Edmonton when I was 12 years old, and I went religiously. I slowly got to know the wrestlers and eventually got the opportunity to talk to Stu. Ill never forget the first time I met him.

  12. Shannon Moores dad passes away
BALTIMORE Oct. 19, 2003 Shannon Moores father, Gilbert, passed away on Oct. 10, about 12 years later than doctors said he would.

  13. Benjamin back in the ring
Shelton Benjamin had to take a few weeks off recently to recover from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He returned to the ring this weekend during the SmackDown! Passport to Pain tour of Europe.
  14. According to TheAmazingRed.com, Red will be undergoing knee surgery on October 23rd. All Japan Pro Wrestling will be paying for the procedure to be done.

Although it was originally thought that Red would be out of action for an entire year, Red expects to be back in about six months.

Red had been working through several leg injuries over the past few months, before suffering a hyperextended knee during a tour with All Japan.
  15. Triple H's appearances at house shows over the weekend as well as last night's RAW were just a one-shot deal, since he and Stephanie will be married later this week. He's expected to make his return to television about two weeks before Survivor Series in order to build his feud with Goldberg.

  16. Bobby Heenan recently spoke to Vince McMahon last week, telling him that he is in great health and would be available for work if needed. McMahon reportedly responded by saying, "I'll see you at WrestleMania, if not sooner."

  17. As you could probably tell by watching RAW last night, the plan is to build up a match between Goldberg and Batista. The match will most definitely not be on PPV, but will simply be used to fill in the time that Triple H is away on his honeymoon. Kevin Nash was originally supposed to fill that role, but was unable to do so because of a neck injury.
  18. WWE Hall of Famer Arnold Skaaland was backstage at last night's house show in White Plains, NY.

  19. As ridiculous as this may sound, officials are just beginning to realize that Eddie Guerrero has the potential to be more than just a mid-card wrestler. It's expected that he'll receive somewhat of a push in the coming weeks.

  20. WWE is beginning to use handheld cameras to tape footage of house shows to use on television in order to boost attendance. Management feels that the reason house show business is down, is because fans feel that they aren't must-see events. By acknowledging these shows on television, it gives fans the notion that they are seeing something important.

  21. Rene Dupree's brother is currently training in OVW.
  22. A huge story has surfaced regarding NWA-TNA's Bound For Glory PPV event, which was scheduled to take place on 11/30.

Hulk Hogan, who was booked to wrestle Jeff Jarrett on the show, aggravated a knee injury during his match with Masahiro Chono in Japan. The injury will require surgery, which means that Hogan will be unable to wrestle on 11/30. As a result, TNA has decided to postpone the PPV until early next year.

TNA still plans to work with Hogan, but they'll have to wait until Hogan recovers from surgery.
  23. For those who've asked what Hulk Hogan's status is for WrestleMania XX, hgere is the latest. People close to Vince McMahon say that when Hogan left in June after refusing to job to Brock Lesnar, Vince "washed his hands of Hogan". Those inside WWE are saying that the plan as of right now is to do WrestleMania without Hogan.

  24. The word going around is that Goldberg was pissed all day at RAW on Monday. There is no definitive reason as to why he was upset, but there are a few things that can be speculated if you watched the end of RAW.

  25. WWE has no house shows scheduled for Saturday so that everyone who wants to can attend the wedding of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

  26. The 10/19 edition of RAW scored a 3.7 cable rating, with a 6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is slightly up from last week's 3.6. The highest rated segment was the overrun, which did a 4.4.

  27. The 10/17 edition of Velocity scored a 0.6 rating, with a 1 share.

  28. The 10/17 edition of Confidential scored a 0.6 rating, with a 1 share.

  29. The 10/18 edition of Sunday Night Heat scored a 0.9 rating, with a 1 share.
